Piercing FAQs

1. Does it hurt?
This is definitely the most frequently asked question in any shop, anywhere. To be completely honest: yes, it will probably hurt. Every person is different, every piercing in different, and every experience is going to be different. However, with that being said, 5 seconds of momentary discomfort shouldn't stand in the way between you and the piercing that you want to get.
2. Why do you charge such-and-such when so-and-so only charges such-and-such?
The answer is simply this: you get what you pay for. We use top-of-the-line quality jewelry, we give you your aftercare before you leave the shop, and we guarantee all of our work. Our piercing prices include the cost of jewelry and the cost of our supplies. Using the very best products availiable doesn't leave us much room for cheap prices. Wouldn't you want the best for your body?
3. Aftercare:
I orally review aftercare for your piercing before and after the piercing, as well as send you out of the shop with a business card and a written aftercare sheet. Aftercare differs for oral piercings, genital piercings, basic piercings, and surface piercings. If you lose your sheet, you are encouraged to contact me. I can give you another hard copy or send you an e-mail version of it if you would prefer that.
Only a fraction of a piercing's success depends on what happens in the shop; the rest is up to you. If you have used an up-to-date aftercare method in the past, and it has worked for you, you are welcome to use it again. However, do NOT use any aftercare method without first discussing it with me so we can weigh the pros and cons of certain aftercare.
The aftercare I suggest is safe, easy, and highly effective. However, every person will heal differently and sometimes small changes must be made to ensure the shortest and healthiest healing time. It is very important to contact me if you are experiencing ANY problems as soon as possible! I am here to help you every step along the way.
4. Healing Times
Every piercing will heal differently, so it is very important that you adhere to the suggested healing times given to you at the time of your piercing. If trauma occurs during the initial healing process, it can delay the healing. Changing the jewelry too soon can cause trauma and start problems.
Shop FAQs
Here are some answers to our Frequently Asked Questions. Please give this a read!
1. Identification:
Mississippi Law requires us to make a copy of your photo identification for everything you have done in a tattoo shop. This means every time you come in to get a tattoo or a piercing, no matter how many times you have been here before, you must present photo ID. No exceptions!
Valid forms of ID include:
1. State issued driver's license
2. State issued ID
3. Passport
4. Military ID
We cannot accept birth certificates, school IDs, social security cards, or parent/guardian IDs.
2. Underage Clients:
In the State of Mississippi, no body art practitioner is allowed to work on a minor. This includes with parental or marital consent. However, Louisiana, Alabama, Tenneessee, and Florida are all allowed to work on minors with parental and marital consent. Feel free to stop by our shop and ask us any questions, but we cannot work on you until you turn 18 years of age.
3. Making Appointments:
We do not make appointments over the phone or over the web. You will have to come in and talk to a tattoo artist to set up an appointment. We will be more than happy to help you out, but we have to see what we're working with before we set anything up. The same thing goes with pricing!
4. Tipping:
Tattoo artists and Piercers CAN recieve tips! We don't require you to tip, but it shows that you were pleased with the quality our work enough that you were willing to throw in a little something extra. If you go to a restaurant, you will more than likely tip your waiter or waitress for good service. You'll tip a bartender, a cab driver, maybe even a delivery person, so why not tip your tattoo artist or piercer? We certainly appreciate it!
